katie zachary is down there. >> it is a little different for you this year when you were up at this hour getting ready. now we're covering it. a lot of preparations still going on at this early hour. we're right at the start of the race at broad and fisher. there are a lot of crews still out here putting up signs and marking. a lot of trucks, but in the next hour and a half or so, everything will be cleared out and making way for the thousands of runners that will be in the area. let's go to the map now. some of these runners, let me tell you it is sprinkling out here, the heavy rain has held off and this is really nice. a lot of the runners tell us one of their favorite parts is the crowd participation and they're worried that as the rain makes up the crowd it l not make it out to the race. so it goes from broad to fisher.

. >> details from katy zachary. riders can expect more trains and service starting this morning. >> reporter: that's right. we are along the doylestown line. extra service starting this morning. the first train did just stop at the station. i can happily report, no details of any sort. we are dealing with a very early hour. things could change as we get into the early morning rush. as you remember, over the weekend, septa worked out a deal with amtrak and the transit agencies in new jersey and maryland adding some 1700 seats for septa riders. the commuting problems began last week when septa had to abruptly remove a third of its fleet from service because of a structural defect on those new silver liner 5 train cars. that meant that p loss meant that trains and platforms were completely overrun with frustrated riders and many people had to resort to driving to getting to work. that's expected to change today. if you were driving or fining some kind of other alternate transportation, this may be the time to come back

. >> katy zachary is live in center city for us. walk us through what's going to happen there today. >> reporter: first of all, time is not on the side of jill stein and her recount effort. that's because we are just four days away from the federal deadline for states to certify their election results. we should learn later today, this afternoon if u.s. district judge will order a recount of pennsylvania votes. a recount was already done in philadelphia from which hillary clinton picked up five additional votes. this stems from green party candidate, jill stein, alleging that hacking of voting machines could have taken place. so far, she has not produced any evidence that it actually did take place. a blow came earlier this week when a philadelphia judge denied letting them actually get inside voting machines to look for evidence of hacking. today's federal hearing takes place at 1:30. we will have it covered on nbc 10. katy zachary, nbc 10 news. >>> meanwhile, america is mourning a hero of the space age, john glenn, the first u.s.

nbc 10's katy zachary breaks down what is expected to happen in court today. >> a trial date has not yet been set and bill cosby's attorneys hope that what happens today here in court could delay the trial or even have the case thrown out altogether. their argument centers around the accuser, andrea constand, a former temple university employee, who first came forward with sexual assault allegations in 2005. she did not testify at his recent preliminary hearing in late may, so today cosby's lawyers will argue that his trial should not be held until constand testifies and they can cross-examine her. prosecutors say a recent court ruling allowed them to use constand's police statement instead of having her appear in person in court. the hearing is set for 1:00 today. nbc 10 news will have the very latest coming up on nbc 10 at 4:00. bill cosby is expected to be here with his attorneys and if the judge rules against the defense, it's very likely we will have a trial date set. reporting from norristown, katy zachary, nbc 10 news. >> meanwhile, philadelphia police are searching for the gu

let's check in with katie zachary.'s been following the development our breaking news center. >> we continue to follow that breaking news on the campus of ohio state in columbus. the shelter in place has been lifted. this just happened within the last ten minutes and police say they have secured the area. our station in columbus reports that one suspect is dead and two people were taken away in handcuffs. those two, young men. a total of eight people we know were rushed to the hospital, this is new information. is listed in krit condition. the others, seven rather, are in stable and new information. nbc news reports that some of the students were attacked with a large knife. we don't know if any students were shot. initially, this came out as an active shooter situation on the campus. ohio state warns students of an active shooter around 9:56, so once again, the god nod news tr all clear. the campus is safe, but all classes have been canceled for the rest of the day and i just checked the university's website and at le
