meteorologist dave spahr is here now to let us know what the winds are doing. >> okay. all right. now we're dealing with some warm to hot temperatures going on. well, in that we did talk about some of those out lower 90's working here. we're going to see more of that come tomorrow as well. look at this picture coming in from half moon bay, nyce cobalt blue. how about that action? not bad, but it is chilly. there's a look at your winds out of the northwest and being felt even in half moon bay. that's kept temperatures down and that will be the case for tomorrow to. so we have a big difference going on here where the coast is struggling in the upper 50's to inland some lower 90's. so that's going to drive the thermal gradient. that contrast is going to drive some more wins for us tomorrow. even at this hour, pacifica, 64, half moon bay. by the way, 55 92 for brentwood. and you can see even the east bay shoreline, plenty of 70's at this hour with cool 70 relatively speaking san francisco for lows tonight. we've got about 53 going on 4 oakland, 52 of the santa rosa about 58 san jose w

we have dave spahr in the weather center with details on the snow in may. bad. >> we've got going on even in yosemite national park is the snow kind of hang around a bit. fresh snow. my dad, not just the old ice that was around before we have the ice before. but now we add to this and what's nice is it's the stuff we're going to be later on for central valley when this starts to melt and fill up the creeks into rivers and all that stuff. good news is we do have a heat pump like we had before, but nothing too nothing too major. we don't want too much melting too quickly for talking about. they are in numbers this week being in the 90's. they would cause too water being released to quickly here. look at the numbers, by the way, 4 54 going on for wednesday thursday about 59 a look ahead back on the home front. we're at 59 by 11 o'clock by 10, partly cloudy, a 53. we do see some fog developing cover, san francisco and off towards the coast of the peninsula. bit. then later on, we'll see cloud cover for the south bay and some of that fog for some of the valley's

let's get a look at the weather right now with dave spahr. kind of foggy out there. dave. >> yeah, good morning, theresa. good morning, everybody. and it will be treated to a little thicker fog going on for tomorrow. not today. expect those temperatures to be popping well inland. well in the 90's. so it's going to kind of business as usual, little bit of a break along the east bay shoreline a little bit. it looks like and to the west peninsula, san francisco looks to be a little colder to now. first things first we knew of that fog at sfo is causing some minor delays about a half hour or so before this death will start peeling away. you can see the but the sunshine curing on throwback to the fog part here, little bit of problem areas along the coast, however, compared to tomorrow. this is a little better and the fog is going to be a bit more aggressive there. even some coastal drizzle to be had. so you're looking at a little bit better day today and also chillier, too. now here's the cloud pattern do want to point out aloft. there are. there's a little bit the way som

we're graced again with the presence of meteorologist dave spahr. he is here with us and thanks for bringing the sun today. they well. yeah, justin, and this is probably the prettiest pictures will have for you and maybe about 5 or 6 days because there's a lot of traffic coming our way. >> from the pacific highway up to the northwest. here's a view of east bay shoreline. finally all open up a little bit here. we're fighting some cloud cover early on. >> there you can kind of just barely make it out in terms of how the systems will traverse. let's get further away from home. you can see we're kind of being shielded by now by this high pressure zone, not the subtropical jet delivering moisture. so this thing is not as wet is some of the winter storms had been. but this low dropping to the south with a very well defined front. and you're going to feel that with the winds and the rain is that everything just kind of clears out right away. late tomorrow night overnight. but then will fill back up again. it looks like with cloud cover later is going kind

but first, kron four's dave spahr tracking the dave, how hot is it going to get? okay. well, at least we're getting a little bit of a break right now. you would think so short, but not dark now for a little we'll see. temperatures, though, returned back to where they were. here's a quick shot of the east bay shoreline. >> no problems of fog will be some patchy fog here and there. but for the most part, we're pretty clear tonight providing a little bit of the cooling for tonight. now, here's a look at the live temperatures as we discuss. 88 still and brent, what 83 pittsburgh, but most readings in the east bay, 70's and 60's on the east bay shoreline and 70's. meanwhile, up north still, that's well above what the numbers were 24 hours ago in some cases up to about 20 degrees above that number. this is a big shocker from what we had yesterday. so that's why it's a big climb. and we're just going to basically stay in that department here as we progress over the next couple of days. here's a look at what we expect tomorrow about the century. mark for antioch, 98 for livermo

kron dave spahr joining us with a look ahead. okay. we've got some dry air settling we'll get to some cool temperatures by tomorrow morning. and temperatures actually go a little bit of a free fall and then tomorrow climbing nice and quickly, which is what we used to get with dry air. here's the scene right now at sfo. looking pretty good for tonight. there were just some minor delays because of construction and all of that. >> high pressure, though, is going to be the star of the show for the next several days. so warming we will go. walter also turn off some of those surface winds a little bit as well. here's a look at those surface winds. we lost our daytime heating so we don't have as much going on mostly single digits to come, although little bit more aggressive here. you can see towards the coast to 13 tonight, maybe a few little scattered clouds around the bay by tomorrow morning. we're a fi 50 san francisco, 50 for oakland and 52. meanwhile, 4 san jose futurecast for relatively uneventful in the short term period. say 48 hours

let's get right to dave spahr with a look at the there, dave. hey, good morning, stephanie. what we tend to see it every winter, some snow collecting on bay area mountains and hills and that is delivering. >> as we see the freeze line go below 2000 feet. so anything the 2000 feet or above its possibility. we'll get some snow up there. don't. how long will stick? but from that shot, it looks like it's trying to at least and it's going to have kind of an all-day event here of this playing out new waves coming in off the pacific. as you can see, we'll see that continue throughout the day today. and as we get some breaks in the clouds that will just give the atmosphere more energy for thunder showers because we get instability with that, too. that's not at home home front there. that's back up to somebody. sorry that slide and they're all right. here's a look at what we also have 2 winds coming in from the onshore direction. cold as they are, although because the topography, we have kind of shielding, it looks like the peninsula bayside and also along the east bay shoreline as w

we continue our coverage with a look at your forecast with dave spahr. hi, dave. hey, good morning, stephanie. good morning, everybody. and it was cold last night. oh, yeah. dry air. clear skies. you know the drill. so temperatures able to do a little tumble act and actually working inversely. >> for afternoon, as we see some scattered clouds try to work back in the forecast a little bit, not too bad. this afternoon, though, we'll see high temperatures in the lower 60's. well inland sfo, beautiful start to the day. no interference going on there. hour by hour reveals the sunny morning. 50 already popping by 10:00am 54 at 11 and upstream. we don't see too much. some high cloudiness will try to build a little bit on us and picking up a little bit in spots. it'll be kind of spotty. however, our temperatures right now as we speak, we're getting rid of the 30's, replacing them with 40's. as you can see, some 50's even on the board here and even up in the north bay, too. still some 30's here and there, but mostly being replaced by 40. so warming up just about everywhere

dave spahr here tracking those temps today. >> all right, dan and noelle, good evening and good evening, everybody. we're talking about temperatures getting to be a string of them. probably the first that we've seen in the summer season and just under the wire to do so to the media logical summer began on saturday. here's a quick shot of. we've been talking about the success of heat, solano county. you have that excessive heat warning for the period from tomorrow morning through thursday night. and meanwhile, heat advisories, the coverage area for the east bay over the east bay hills. that means not the east bay strip. now along the bay and also up in the north bay, too. now one of the things we have working for us are some of those winds a little bit. we're gonna continue to see the onshore winds and notice the decoupling of temperatures as you have almost 100 going on. well, inland. meanwhile, the east bay shoreline, plenty of 80's to be had and the peninsula itself, at least near the coast, not too bad in the 70's. 93 going on down for morgan hill. there's a live shot of the golden g

conference dave spahr has been tracking the winds of the temperatures. david is a hot one today to yeah, it was. and the air is also a little bit on the dry side that we've gotten from all of this as well. the latest wind profiles we have. here is a quick check in where we are. give your geography real quickly. here's petaluma. you can see a little 3 is and we're getting a little bit hectic. onshore wind, but not much the way of winds us all this about an hour ago. there were a lot of teens here. so the good news is the winds have died down a little bit, which is pretty much what we expected all over. in fact, the north bay, the wind direction, not the greatest, but it's kind of variable is what we got going on for now. now, the wider perspective, everything that's going on here, we'll zoom out a little bit get a general idea here we're not moving. are we here? there we go wider perspective and you can see but he stands kind of ection. little windy in san francisco a little bit there from the northwest. the direction is there are some offshore winds kind

the 7 o'clock talking about the forecast with dave spahr over in the weather center. out there? well, good morning, michael. good morning. everybody. and were treated some fog one on this morning. actually, a fog advisory happening at the coast and other covers portions of san francisco, even though >> some of the shots we have for you looking pretty dandy at that. going to a hot summer i mean, for did here's a look at half moon bay. this is one of the places where the fog advisory is. you can see it pulling away with low tide at places. well, nice calm. see where all at. that's very picturesque for you. and most of the traffic, the pacific. well, this is to zoomed-in, but it's really going up in around us. those big lows are dipping to the south the way we see before. although we do see some interesting rotation start to happen later on during the week. that will provide what would have been some light rain showers in this case is just going to be some cooling effects from the wind pattern we have mid to upper 50's across most of the east bay for right now. 67 going

let's get right to dave spahr for the latest on our weather conditions. rning, stephanie. good morning, everybody. i'm control of his any possibly get san mateo bridge up there because we don't usually see it swinging around the way it is right now. kind of really underscores what we're looking at here in terms of right now. this the kind of a squall line right across the san francisco off to oakland in down a little bit into the peninsula. obviously mateo bridge, if we can show that anyway. but it's shaking. and there's also some white caps going on in the bay, something we don't see very often either. if you take a look at the left-hand side, you can see the big waves going on as well. now to underscore this, it's not get the heavy rains will have all day. that part is going to wane, but we're going to have those winds going throughout the afternoon and it's the damage to perhaps a telephone poles and that sort of thing that concerned about, ok, you did see a lot about radar going on. this is what we got right now. as you can see, lightning bolt strikes.
