onmy: right now, we are storm watch. make sure you keep the umbrella
handy. we are tracking potentially severe weather.
it could bring strong winds and even some hail. chief meteorologist doug hill is
here. doug: looks like it will be later this afternoon, probably
between 3:00 and 8:00 tonight.
probably closer to 5:00 or 6:00 when we see the best opportunity for showers and storms to bubble
up. at reagan national. most other areas in the 70's.
we have patches of clouds. still weakening but moving to the southwest of the
metro area. later this afternoon, with several more hours of sunshine
would help destabilize the atmosphere and the next system approaching, i think we will see
scattered showers and storms. the question is where the heaviest ones will be.
a few storms could become severe , so a good chunk of the area, not so much south of the metro
area, but especially d.c. metro area north and east. as we get through the 6:00 to
7:00 hour, they really blow up and blossom.
