the prime minister also spoke
of preparations for a possible
second wave of coronavirus
this winter, confirming that the nhs
in england will get an extra
£3 billion of funding.
scotland, wales, and
northern ireland will also
receive additional money.
it follows warnings earlier this
week that without counter measures,
a second wave could lead
to 120,000 covid—i9 deaths
in uk hospitals this winter.
