when we were going through this
whole process of don't ask,
don't tell, i did not believe
that our military units were so
fragile that finding out having
somebody next to you that was
openly gay would be so
disruptive to our units.
i am very proud, so far, as
you've discussed today, of all
our men and women in uniform who
have -- who not only go out and
fight for us every day but who
are also working through this
new policy that you're trying to
implement.
so i always thought they were
strong and a great military
force, and i think they are
proving us right.
