here to weigh in is former
employee of homeland security,
see something, say nothing,
phillip haney.
do you have a sense how this
faux pas took place?
>> i've been reading this report
is one thing that struck me,
there are a lot of numbers in
the report including 315,000
individuals whose fingerprints
were lost, and not only that, if
the department of homeland
security was serious about this,
they would not have shut down
the program that discovered this
lapse in the first place, but at
the end of the report, you will
read that they shut the program
down.
>> so now that they have
discovered their error, their
mistake, what are they going to
do now?
>> well, they say they are
addressing it, but if they shut
the program down that originally
discovered it, it's hard to
really effectively address it,
but they s they have
recommendations that the
agencies are following and that
they are expecting a follow-up
report.
>> okay.
