i'm janelle wang. >> i'm jessica aguirre. we're on with you a little earlier than usual because of the olympics. >> and nbc bay area news will begin right after daytime olympic coverage bringing you special reports from london and profiles of our bay area athletes. we have lots of them going for gold today. >> first, we want to start with a developing story. missing for 15 hours, within the last hour, though, we've learned a young mother and her 2-month-old baby are safe and okay. the man suspected of kidnapping them at gunpoint in oakland last night is still on the run. oakland police and the krchp issued an am bert alert after marcos hernandez forced his 17-year-old girlfriend and their baby into a silver ford focus after 11:00 last night. police say hernandez hit his girlfriend several times before threatening to kill her if she did not get into the car. the couple had been arguing. police believe hernandez may be headed to sacramento county.
