school is bracing for protests
on cinco de mayo.
it stems from an incident a few
years ago when students wore
american flag t-shirts to class.

school officials will shield
students from these rallies.

very hard to miss.
behind me is live oak high
school and you'll see they
installed a temporary chain link
fence and they surrounded the
front part of the campus and
we've seen at least one no
trespassing sign on there, as
well.
that is what they're doing to
shield students from the
expected protests expected to
take place later this morning
when school starts.
they plan to be out here when
school starts to protest a
recent federal court decision
that upheld the school's
decision back in 2010 to send
home four students who wore
american flag clothes to school
on cinco de mayo in response to
students celebrating the mexican
holiday.
