congress had to vote on three
different bills before they
finally got one passed and that
was barely.
we got word that president
obama signed the bill just an
hour ago.
but for homeland security
workers this is very stressful
because they still don't know
whether they will get a
paycheck.
a late night vote after a day
of drama.
>> on this vote the aye's are
357, the nays are 60.
>> reporter: the last minute
deal extends security funding
for seven days.
>> we believe that within the
next seven days hopefully five,
that we will have a bill that
takes us to the end of the year
and to the ends of the fiscal
year.
>>> it was a back and forth
battle.
a win for democrats to remain
united.
but it failed in the house
exposing the risk between
moderate republicans and
conservatives who want to use
homeland security funding as a
way to roll back president
