many of the officers say they
are just getting used to the
fact they won't see michael
johnson anymore.
the officer who was gunned
down.
the memorial for the fallen
officer continues to grow here
at san jose police
headquarters.
a steady stream of people have
been showing up to leave
flowers, cards, and other
items.
38-year-old officer michael
johnson was killed tuesday
night responding to a call to
check on the welfare of a
troubled man.
police say the 14-year veteran
and field training officer was
one of the first to arrive and
was shot at close range with a
high-powered rifle from an
apartment balcony.
police say it was 57-year-old
scott dunham who opened fire.
dunham was reported to be
drunk, suicidal, and
belligerent when family members
called 911.
dunham was found dead...
