chris, first of all, has the
white house reacted at all this
to many measure?

they say they're not going to
react specifically to any
conversations which amount to
negotiations in a sense.
with members of congress.
i think a couple of significant
things.
one is that those conversations,
those phone calls from the
president and from other high
level administration officials
have been ongoing.
and i also think that they're
recognizing that they still have
some questions to answer, and
you're going to hear some of
that today with the hearings
that is the start of a hearing
of high skeptives.
the folks that believe this
doesn't go high enough and those
concerned after ten years of war
this is the beginning of a
slippery slope.
as you mentioned, there are a
number of provisions including
the 15-day notice and the
updates every 90 days.
