beto o'rourke is set to appear. joining me, jose rodriguez. thank you, sir, for joining me. start first with the president's trip to el paso. you represent el paso in the texas state senate. what your reaction to the president choosing el paso to hold a rally to champion for a border wall? >> well, i think, alex, it's outrageous, adding insult to injury after having made his statements in the state of the union, lying about el paso's safety. by now the country's finding out that el paso is one of the safest and has been one of the safest cities in the country, and this is not something that developed overnight. it's been the case over the past 30 years. i have firsthand knowledge, because i was the county prosecutor sdduring the time th wall was built and i assure you the wall did not have a big, contributing influence in the low crime rates in el paso. it was, in fact, community policing, community policing
