bringing up serious concerns here in philadelphia and across america. walter perez is live at the christmas village in city hall. we are hearing from the mayor and police keeping security measures in place. >> reporter: christmas villages are common in europe and becoming more popular in the u.s. and now public spaces like these can no longer be presumed to be safe. >> there are added security measures surrounding the christmas village outside of city hall in the wake of terror attack in germany but made purely out of an abundance of caution. >> we are larger vehicles parked to the entrances of the villages around city hall and police vehicles and trash trucks we don't have an imminent threat but we take precautions when something like this happens.
