from bethesda to new carrollton and that was years ago and look
where we are now. there has been a bit more
movement as far as how the funding would come together, but
not everybody wants this. but you also have to remember,
this is why this judge has held it up because a group basically
said look, you have to take into account metro's falling
ridership, metro is down 100,000 trips per workday on the system.
and they are saying that that could negatively impact the
ridership of the purple line which then you start to question
whether it's needed or not. remember the purple line is not
metro project,
sta by the state of maryland, it's a
light car system, but it does connect to the metro folks.

so that's why this group is successful to get the judge to
order a new impact
