friday today the focus turns to improving the academic and social out come for young women
of color. fox5's bob barnard live in northeast this morning sorting

to talk about this initiative to empower young girls of color in the d.c. public school system
kind of as harvey levin was saying being proactive trying reach girls before they get into
trouble or leave home or what have you. and, yes,
concerned about their academic future and well-being but also they're social med well-being.
it kind of goes hand in hand with the six-point initiative the mayor released last week to
try to address this whole issue of missing girls in the dis district.
one of them is to increase the number of police officers at the department's children and family
