we are just a little bit warmer in some spots but we had a little wind, that's why, after 3:00 that workedome of that warmer air from the higher elevations, about 1,000 feet down to the surface and that allowed for the temperatures to come up with little bit. clear and cold this morning. a spare the air, the freeze warning until 9:00, and then we will see dry conditions through the holiday weekend. and the winds are going to shift as soon as tomorrow, christmas day. so that will allow for more of an on shore push that will mix out the atmosphere and the spare the air will be gone tomorrow. sober air quality. today, though, poor air quality, inland east bay, south bay, north bay moderate air quality. you can see when you look out there how hazy it is. with the on shore flow, overnight lows we should see a couple 20s but more 40s. still high pressure in command. tomorrow the ridge begins to weaken a little bit and a couple systems will cut through the high pressure area from tomorrow and then tuesday. that should allow maybe a little bit of rain in the north bay by wednesday. 60 today in sac

details in a little bit. >>> all right. thank you, tracy. let's head to traffic. re's a live look. not a lot of cars. so far so good. we'll keep you updated. back to you, guys. >>> thanks, you guys. it is 4:31. more police will be patrolling oakland's crime hot spots. >> all thanks to a major federal grant. we are in oakland where the police academy reopened this morning. good morning, sharon. >> good morning, frank and elizabeth. this morning at 8:00, the oakland police academy set to open its doors on the fifth floor of the administration building. this is the first time that oakland is running a police academy since dozens of officers were laid off in july 2010. the money comes from a federal grant that allows oakland to put a total of 25 officers back on the streets. ten of those officers come from the academy. their training was put on hold when the layoffs occurred. they'll be reassigned to the 100 block where 90% of the city's crime happens. they'll be patrolling around the middle schools in particular to get to know the kids and help them get to school safe
