i want to show you video we shot a little bit earlier. if i talk to the lieutenant this morning from the oakland fire department he says they got a call about 2:00. residents in a nearby apartment building started getting smoke into their apartment so they called 911. when firefighters got on the scene the flames were shooting 30 feet in the air. fur of these trees were on fire. some of the cars parked next to them were also starting to burn. there was a power line down in the middle of the street. they got everything out. their fire investigator was out here this morning as well. he spent 45 minutes out here and just got to the department to start his investigation. they aren't sure how it started but at this point they say it does look very suspicious. they think that fire helped knock down the power line. we tried to get ahold of pg&e but firefighters are estimating it will be four hours before they get the power back on. there are not pg&e crews on scene right now. certainly it will be a long morning. the investigation under way. oakla
