abc to make drastic cuts.nd tonight is the last opportunity for the public to weigh in on how to slash $95 million. the budget and finance committee is meeting to look at dozens of proposals that are on the table that include layoffs, reduced overtime and changes to employee benefits. a proposal to close or merge schools to save money died in december, so the district has to come up with a way to save all of that money without closing schools. tonight's meeting is at 6:00 at metwest high school on east 10th street in oakland. >> former oakland mayor sheng tao was in court today facing federal bribery charges. federal attorneys turned over hundreds of pages of evidence, and now defense attorneys will take time to review it. tao, her longtime romantic partner andre jones, and father son businessmen david and andy duong are accused of trading political favors for cash. all four have pleaded not guilty. the next court hearing is set for april 24th. >> in the south bay, three men accused of killing a fellow inmate

. >> always live abc seven news starts right now. >> and good evening. i'm ama daetz. >> and i'm dan ashley. here's a live look outside tonight. and the rain has moved out. but the cold is moving in. >> yes. let's get over to spencer christian. it is looking rather frosty of a weekend for us. spencer. >> all right. it's beginning to feel frosty already. here's a look at the satellite radar image. cold air mass moving in. it almost looks cold on this image as it's pushing into the bay area. and that's going to drop temperatures down to the freezing level in some places tonight. we have a freeze warning and a frost advisory in effect for the bay area from 1 a.m. to 9 a.m. tomorrow. those areas under the purple color there, the north bay interior valleys and the eastern santa clara hills are under the freeze warning. and those areas, low temperatures may go as low as 28 degrees in the blue areas. all of the bay area basically, except san francisco and the coastline. the frost advisory is in effect, and in those areas, lows could drop down to about 33 degree

on abc seven or wherever you stream. seven news. >> yes, and i was looking kind of down the pipeline. >> look at it. >> it looks really nice. next weekend for the 15th and the 16th. so it should be really nice for the parade out there. that's exciting. thank goodness. yeah. this morning it's quite a different story. rain is coming on back and so too are the gusty winds. it's cloudy out there right now. rain is about 60 to 90 minutes away from your neighborhood. so it's a level two storm today with downpours and gusty winds. the extended outlook starting on saturday and through tuesday we get a nice break from the rain, but storms do return next wednesday. let's talk about this incoming storm live doppler seven. clearly showing you that shield of rain is on its way in here, and it spreads across the region over the next 60 to 90 minutes. so for a lot of us, by about seven, certainly 8 a.m, you do have rain in your neighborhood. it's level two, a moderate storm on the storm impact scale today for rain, scattered downpours,

abc seven news weather anchor spencer christian joins us right now.pencer which areas will be hit hardest and when? >> well, virtually all of the area, all the bay area will be hit by it over the next couple of hours. kristen. earlier in the day, this was mainly a north bay event because that stationary front you see up there had sort of stalled and most of the activity was up north. but now the system is beginning to move and expand. and so over the next few hours, virtually all parts of the bay area will feel the effects of this storm. this is a strong level three storm on the exclusive abc seven storm impact scale until about 7 p.m. we expect these conditions areas of heavy rainfall, some flooding, of course. thunderstorm chance that's expected to expire right now at about 3:00. but as far as i can tell, the national weather service still has that thunderstorm chance in its alerts. and of course, strong, powerful winds, the possibility of downed trees and power outages. let's take a look at the forecast animation notice over the next couple of hour
