pg&e's response to the disaster. chief among them, the northeast says the agency -- the ntsb says the agency did not have procedures for telling emergency responders about pipeline ruptures. pg&e's internal policies did not include notifying fire departme departments, city leaders or police. took nearly 40 minutes before crews could close pipe valves and stop the flow of gas through the line. that's been a major area of criticism. the ntsb also provided details about what technician were doing before, during, and after the explosion, including a timeline showing gas pressure going up and down and setting off alarms before that blast. meanwhile, pg&e responded today saying the company has "already been working hard to improve the safety, quality, and performance of our gas system." the company also says it's hired 74 new gas engineers, and it continues to conduct pressure tests on key pipelines. pg&e is replacing or upgrading older lines. a process that will take decades, but it's in the initial stages now. the agency did not make any recommendation or analysis in the documents. we expect the ntsb to do that on august 30. when the details come outer, we
