that will be a new accrual rate of 1 hour for every 30 hours worked for employees who are currently casual and seasonal laborers who do not accrue sick leave. it provides access to sick leave from six 6 months to the 90th day of employment and this is consistent with state law. the proposal expands the covered reasons for using sick leave to now include employees who are victims of domestic violence, sexual assault and stalking which are not currently covered by our sick leave rule. the proposal expands relationships to include children of any age or dependency status as well as grandparents or grandchildren. the covered reasons and relationships for using sick leave does address the employees need to care for persons who maybe not members of their immediate household and this is consistent with the city's obligation to comply with state laws that require care for relatives defined outside of our current civil service rules. i can say that speaking anecdotally there was a 2011 study by women's policy research that shows that passage of the san francisco paid sick leave ordinance which is v
