burning dozens of acres this afternoon. flames scorched 70 acres before firefighters stopped the spread. that fire is now 30% contained, and cal fire is investigating what sparked it. meanwhile, big problems on east bay freeways today after two separate big rig crashes. this fiery accident you're looking at here happened in san leandro. that big rig slammed into the center divider on northbound 238, just before the 880 connector. crews had to shut down both directions to get that trailer off of the freeway. while the northbound connector is back open. the ramp to southbound 880 may not be back open until 6:00, and we are learning that the driver was not hurt in that crash. another early morning crash blocked lanes at the caldecott tunnel in oakland. a big rig hauling thousands of pounds of lawn sod overturned, blocking the westbound lanes of highway 24. crews spent hours cleaning up the dirt, moving the truck before the lanes could reopen. the chp says that the driver in that crash may have been hurt, but there is no update
