meteorologist adam klotz is standing by at the fox extreme weather center with the forecast, but firstve in conway, arkansas. casey? >> reporter: hey, arthel, this is treasure hills, one of these quaint suburbs of conway arkansas, one of the many areas throughout this region that has taken on a whole lot of flood water. i want you to see what's going on back here live in the background. you can see this house that is basically surrounded by a wall of sandbags that they've made to try and keep the water out. they even have pumps running to try and divert it away. and they tell us that the water is not in the house just yet, fortunately. but if you follow me over this way, and this is all about elevation, as you know, this house is slightly higher than this one, and you can see the results because this home has practically been engulfed by the flood waters. the faulkner county sheriff took us out early this morning and showed us some of these neighborhoods that are only reachable by boat. we saw home after home water logged, a lot of farmland underwater, and it could have a devastating i

meteorologist adam klotz joins us now with what we can expect for the rest of this weekend. adam. >> hey, eric. a little bit of a break across portions of the country. there's spots we're watching as there's a lot of heat and humidity which will be fueling storms once again across the middle of the country, not nearly as widespread, not all the tornadic activity we've seen so much over the last two weeks. here's the national weather service storm prediction center, indicating areas of the country where we could see big weather today. likely not a big tornado outbreak but severe thunderstorms are possible. we're seeing some of those fire up. the yellow highlighted area, that's a thunderstorm watch. the ingredients are in place that we could get severe thunderstorms. we've been seeing a couple, especially around the great lakes. this is a line of storms running across portions of northern ohio. winds are up to 60 miles an hour at times, hail, and within the system, very heavy rain. rain has been a major issue across the middle of the country. this one, this particular system to

adam klotz is in the fox extreme weather center. adam, the ceilings -- we're waiting for the police and fire department and the governor. we'll get to that. but the weather is a constantly changing thing since 8:00 or 9:00 a.m. today. ad adam, you there? >> yeah, i'm here. i just got the audio. >> shepard: now you have the audio, the weather today, like i said, 8:00 or 9:00 a.m., it's been constantly changing. the only constant being the rain. >> yeah. that's been the only thing that's consistent throughout the entire morning, shepard. it's been a mess. as we're dealing with this, rain consistently from early this morning, running all the way until right now. if we run into the future, in total, as far as rainfall, probably only from 1/10 inch to 1/2 inch of rain. so hasn't been a ton of rainfall up to this point. there's our radar, estimated rainfall precipitation. that's picking up everything from the last six hours. this hasn't been a real big rainfall. one of the things you consider perhaps in this situation is the wind. at times

fox meteorologist adam klotz with the latest on that. ty path, it is the heat and humidity, you are right. it is going to be brutal through the weekend and next week. current temperatures, 83 degrees in new york city, stretching back into the middle of the country where most of the intense heat will linger over the next few days. forecasted highs for today in some cases getting up towards nebraska, that's a triple digits, up to 100 degrees everywhere around, at least running up into the middle 90s. it lingers for you into sunday. maybe a couple degrees cooler, but really not a whole lot. everywhere, again, running back up into the 90s in the middle of the country. this continues once again into monday. this is just as far as the graphic runs out. it is going to stay with these temperatures for days and days after that. now, you add in that humidity, that's when the air gets really heavy. you call it air you can wear. you step outside and you feel you can't breathe. the feels like temperatures get up into triple digits in a lot larger area
