meteorologist adam klotz on that spirit adam, what can we expect for round two? >> 's is looking more and more like allow large powerful storm that's going to be a real problem is t it makes a way acrs florida. we see an upgrade to a category one hurricane for there it sits spinning off the coast of mexico. this is going to continue to intensify after it sits over the very warm waters. couple of issues here. there is for your hurricane is it's raining across florida right now for that is unassociated with this hurricane. the ground is already going to be really wet. the additional rain on the way flooding is going to be a major concern state white even if you're not in the air with us ultimately it makes the land fall. we are currently looking where the waters are the warmest wincing up to one or 25-mile sparta category three hurricane before ultimately wednesday during the day making landfall drag across the entire state the central part of the state back out into the atlantic ocean. weakening as it makes the move. you get a sense on the timing here you can pay

fox weather adam klotz in new york. good evening, adam. >> adam: good evening, bret. storm moving 15 miles per hour those winds at 120 miles per hour. as you can tell sitting offshore the effects are being felt across the state, especially there along interstate 4 and then places to the north. that's where the heavy rain is. it's spots to the south that we have seen unbelievable tornado outbreak, over 120 tornado warned storms so far this afternoon. i've never seen anything like this as far as tornadoes go. now, it's not uncommon to see a tornado but to sees a many as we have so far today. it's been this kind of line that they have continued to spin up and will continue to although currently this is beginning to push out over the atlantic. the risk is still going to be there throughout the entire overnight hours. back to that center of circulation where the hurricane itself is, we are getting really close to land at this point. sitting just a little over 40 miles off the coast of sarasota. that's the spot right now where you are looking at that flashing green box, tha

stuart: adam klotz, thank you very much indeed.is, the chief financial officer in florida. are homeowner rates going to spike after milton? >> really going to depend on how the impact and damage of the storm is. right now is the path of the storm that is proposed and you're looking at somewhere north of 10, maybe $20 billion worth of insured losses. now the carriers in the state of florida, they have been able to raise the type of capital in order to handle a storm. we've got nine new companies coming into the state, but everything that we're focused on right now is the urban search and rescue preparedness and resources from all corners of the country, 1200 open search and rescue first responders preparing to deploy out when the storm passes. stuart: what are you getting from the federal government? >> so, the feds have been providing the individual assistance programs right now. but some of the challenges we've had is the amount of debris that was created by helene in pinellas county and st. petersburg and most populated square fo

[crowd chanting] >> reporter: it is a little bit on the chilly side out here, if we can take a look at those forecast graphics, you will see, even though it does start on the cool side it has been relatively warm across the country, daytime highs, not a lot of rain, looking into the 70s, 60s across the country. it was perfect for football out here. perfect football weather type of day. it's just a little on the cool side this morning but we are warming up and how are we warming up, with the energy because oh -- a lot of ohio state fans out here early this morning which, this one. i was kind of impressed by this guy right here be close we've got a nebraska man. what are you saying? you might be in for a long day. you are expected to lose by 25. it was a tough week in indiana. what are you hoping for? >> college football world. >> that it from out here. tossing it back to you. you know what i do when i toss it back. oh, i

we begin with fox news meteorologist adam klotz at the fox weather center in new york for miment's track. winds actually now up to 180 miles per hour. every single time we look at this, it is a little bit stronger. this eye wall is so well defined you know you are dealing with a really powerful storm. just yesterday morning 50 mile-per-hour winds. that's how quickly this has intensified. really a rapidly intensifying storm that is going to cause major damage. here is your forecast track. one of the things you will notice as we get closer to that landfall, which we are now looking at late on wednesday into early on thursday morning is it does weaken a little bit. it weakens with the winds down to 125 miles per hour. >> that is still a major strong storm. so that's not something to think that oh, this is super, super good news. yes, you do want a little bit less wind speed, but, when winds slow down a storm like this that was once so large it typically gets a little bit larger. it is going to double in size. that means it's going to impact more people and bigger storm that can push water u

adam klotz is tracking milton's path. hello, adam.eah, this is, unfortunately, looking like a dangerous situation for a couple of big reasons, one being rain and that's just across the entire state. you can already see rain currently falling, this is unassociated with milton, but the ground is already going to to be saturate ad. by the time this tropical storm makes it to the sunshine state, it's already going to be soggy, wet, and it's the only going to add to the problems. milton currently sitting off the coast of mexico, winds at of -- 65 miles an hour, east/southeast at 6 miles an hour. once we get that forward motion, you're going to have a better idea of exactly where this will make landfall. right in the middle of the cone would be tampa. wherever, ultimately, this makes landfall, storm surge is maybe the biggest concern. widespread rain, but storm surge wherever we see that landfall because it's going to bring a whole lot of water with it. by tuesday morning you're talking about a major category three hurricane. it might weake

meteorologist adam klotz live with more on that. >> on forcing another storm in a very active hurricane continue to be one. looking across the gulf of mexico bunches of thunderstorms is currently setting just off the coast of mexico that is now the tropical storm milton. winds at 40 miles per hour this will intensify as it runs over the warm mexico water. currently hardly moving north northeast it. you'll have a better sense and were ultimately this'll make landfall once we start to get that full of motion. for now it's a general path you're looking at landfall on wednesday. the count is still fairly wider covered most of the state of florida. we like to look at several different forecast model to get a sense of for the storm ago. ultimately have to include all of that in your cone of uncertainty if you will. we do kind of average them out as of right now the consensus the average is running just to the south of tampa. again this is something happening on wednesday. it will cross over the state of florida throughout the day on wednesday and then be back out into the atlantic ocean by th

fox news meteorologist adam klotz is at the weather center in new york. in the last couple hours seen this storm regain strength category 5 storm 165 mile-per-hour winds. zooming in on this storm you see an eye wallet like that. this is a classic big category 5 hurricane that is going to bring a lot of energy to the west coast of florida. now, it does weaken. it hits some upper level winds that knocks it down to a category 3 by the time it makes landfall late tomorrow night, really into early thursday morning. all of that energy has to go somewhere. you are also looking at a line here a cone that has settled a little bit further to the south. doesn't mean that tampa is out of the woods yet. it does mean that, perhaps, some places south could see some higher storm surge. either way thoughs that this weakens, it widens, so more folks ultimately have to get in on it, category 3 storm is still very, very strong. the winds will be intense. the forecast for now still has its highest 15 feet in tampa in the tampa bay area. but this latest forecast, thanks to thi

adam klotz, meteorologist, a unique breed himself. i had the pleasure of talking to the florida police chief. what a great reaction, no nonsense, she lets you know, if you were evacuating or weren't evacuating, and how is the community looking? >> having a little bit of audio problems from the hurricane roaring through my ears all night. neil: most people got out of dodge and evacuated. not everybody. give me a damage assessment. what does it look like? >> we are prepared to hit the street at 2:30 a.m. when the winds subsided enough to go out safely. chainsaws and straps, trying to pull debris from the main roadways. we have a lot of people whose cars were stuck in ponds and puddles and deep water. we left them because that was their own fault, they didn't heed our warning, decided to deal with them today. in the daylight i've seen some disasters. i was on our relief with father hurricanes since i've been a police officer for 38 years. charlie, all of them. this is not as bad as some of those. we are not seeing houses that have been d

adam klotz is watching all of this from the weather it's supposed to weaken somewhat. recast, it will hit the florida shore as a major hurricane, adam. >> you're right. it jumped up historically quickly. winds at 170 miles an hour. it gets more powerful. you're looking at a strong storm. we are. this is just over the last 24 hours. we have seen especially this morning, this has gotten so incredibly strong, john. catastrophic-type winds talking 175 miles an hour. really off the board here. it was going to perhaps weaken a little bit. it is forecast to do so. there's a couple of issues. it's 120 miles an hour when it makes landfill wednesday afternoon or wednesday evening. even though yven though you get little bit. that's going to cause a whole lot of flooding like category five would bring a lot of water. hurricane watches are in tampa towards naples. winds at 110 miles an hour are currently forecast from sarasota up towards tampa. we would be talking about devastation. some of these numbers are also devastating. this is the forecast for the storm surge in tampa bay. 12

let's go right to adam klotz in the fox weather center for more. adam? >> hey, judge.the latest information coming right at 5:00 p.m., really a very similar sized storm, wind still 120 miles per hour, st only lost 5 miles per r since our last update. getting close enough to landfall that we continue to get updates on the track and this is currently what we are looking at, somewhere in a landfall between just south of sarasota and basically over tampa before this storm continues to drive across the state, likely staying right along interstate 4 and then out to see. but that will take really all through the overnight hours into early portions of tomorrow. the wind field is already big enough, obviously people are feeling this across the entire state. hurricane-force winds are going to be dragging across the state so just because you are on the east side of the state doesn't mean you won't be dealing with a hurricane, it will be passing right by orlando. they are going to be seeing wins like that and i will leave you with this judge, most recent numbers as far as the poss
