this is an example of a very old project at addison and digby streets where the median or island circledred was added to the intersection to prevent what had at that point been a series of doughnuts. and these can start out as simple trial experiments with cones and then move on to become more elaborate or permanent features with curbs and concrete and landscaping. another thing that can be done relatively quickly is to install ceramic dots in the middle of the intersection. the ceramic dots could theoretically prevent the activities if they interfere with the spinning of wheels. this picture shows how they're of different sizes, but the smallest one is the one that is used in san francisco due to concerns with motorcycles and bicyclists not slipping or hitting them. but some counties such as sonoma have used these larger profile dots featured in the middle of the slide, in some of their intersections, as trials to see if that can stop the stunt activities in their jurisdictions. so the raised markers are being used in trial basis because we want to see if they're sufficient deterrent fo
