so, significantly under for adp, and adp does not consider itself, it says, a predictor of payrolls.. adp had been finding a job losses in some of those categories, but they seem to be strong. 145,000 in service-providing jobs. it looks like a very strong jobs report from adp. remember, they only measure private-sector jobs, and that sets the stage for this friday. it does suggest we are going to get a stronger report. jonathan: it is good they don't consider themselves a predictor. three months average -- three-month average is really punchy going into friday. can you go through some of the estimates for us? mike: right now what the bloomberg survey is suggesting is, we are going to see for friday's number an unemployment rate of 3.8% and 240,000 jobs. we will see when 90,000 in the private sector. that compares to the adp number telling us what the payrolls numbers going to be, according to them. another strong month. the bottom line is, the fed is thinking, we are not in a situation where we need to cut interest rates because we have a very strong economy going. jonathan: i want t

the futures after that adp number little changed. just under 80 a lot of fed happenings today with the two-day meeting ending. we take a look at treasurys. watches them the entire yield curve. ten year now 466 two year is above 5. watching that kind of a key level. 5% then cryptocurrencies including bitcoin. saw it almost go under 57,000, then bounce back above 58,000. just in the last week, week and a half we have seen it move around 65,000. it's been a big haircut from bit bitcoin -- take your pick. risk-off trade in equity markets. more unlikely for rate cuts this year a lot of assets counting on that, including business coin. some of the morning's key earnings mover, cvs and pfizer you can see moving in opposite directions and cvs talking about rising medical costs to report disappointing results. and pfizer's up 1.25%. good news. bad news is, only 33 cents when you're a $25 stock, and pfizer's had a -- talking covid, talking pandemic, $45. i remember now down by $25. eli lilly is almost a trillion dollars. closing it on in. >> t

so the fed is paying attention to that number we have the adp private sector read on jobs today 192,000he month that was better than expected, doesn't change the calculus. big job growth continues to be in the services part of the economy. 142,000 added there for april, less than goods. and the large employers, large companies are doing most of the heavy lifting or a lot of the heavy lifting in terms of job growth but nice to see they are adding jobs across the board one other interesting number to look at in wage inflation is the change in pay, job stayers the change is 5%, and for job changers which is where you get the big pay bump, 9.3% is still a high number but better than the -- at least it's not as high as the 10% that we saw in the march number so pretty in line on the adp front doesn't see the expectation we'll see 200,000 jobs created on the government number on friday but the job market is maybe cooling a little bit but not in any significant way. there's still plenty of demand for labor and a lot of hiring, and that's part of the story and the debate at the fed today. >> at
