critics of alameda county district attorney pamela price will announce today their next steps to try fice. the group is called safe which stands for safe alameda for everyone. members filed a campaign financing paperwork last month to raise money. the group needs to collect more than 93,000 signatures to that's 10% of registered voters in alameda county to put a recall vote on the ballot. today's announcement is at 10:00 this morning at the courthouse near lake merritt. price says she has been fulfilling her campaign promise of reforming criminal justice. meantime a report by the bay area news group says price has hired her boyfriend, antoine chloride, as a senior program specialist, a position that carries a yearly salary of $115,000. alameda county's human resources department tells the bay area news group that there is no record that price or notify the department of their relationship. critics say alameda county needs to establish a nepotism policy. the remains of a missing saratoga teenager have been found. the santa clara county sheriff's office did not indicate how the 17 year

critics say alameda county needs to establish a nepotism policy to the remains of a missing saratoga teenager have been found. santa clara county sheriff's office did not indicate how 17 year old catherine schneider may have died. the sheriff's office announced sunday that a human remains were discovered near castle rock state park. that's near the area where the teen's car was located last week. she was last seen leaving her home on july fifth. well we're learning that two women were treated for injuries at a lake tahoe area hospital following two separate attacks by river otters in the sierra last month . now, one attack took place july 11th while the victim was swimming in the feather river on the edge of the plumas national forest. she suffered minor injuries. two days earlier, though, another swimmer suffered some more serious injuries after a river otter bit her more than a dozen times at a lake near soda springs. river otters are distant cousins to sea otters. experts say they rarely attack humans. all right. let's get over now to take a look at the weather. and steve has been

we have pictures now. >> of the alameda county fire department, the alameda fire department. they responded to this with a water rescue team. it was a 3 o'clock in the morning at the seaplane lagoon that this happened. rescue swimmers found a man unconscious. he wasn't breathing. he was in the water. he was transported to a trauma center. alameda fire says that no additional victims were found in the water. in the south bay. a bicyclist was rescued in sanborn county park after he fell and broke his leg. and the santa clara county fire department sent us these photos showing us what they did was on the park trail friday night that they rescued. they man and they were able get that bicyclist to a local hospital and treated for his injuries. in the north bay. sonoma county deputies rescued a driver who crashed a car down a steep embankment. and another angle you'll see look at how steep this is. this happened friday afternoon between calistoga and santa rosa. the driver went 100 feet off the roadway and into a ravine and you can see they hoisted him to safety with a helicopter a

the alameda county board of supervisors has voted to reduce the jail time for sideshow. spectators. the ordinance now reduces the jail time from 6 down to 3 months. the board of supervisors first put this ordinance in place to stop the increasing number of sideshows that they are seeing in the county. it was passed on july 11th and included jail time and a fine geared toward spectators who were within 200 feet of a sideshow. attorneys are questioning the legality of charging people with crimes who are on public property and who may or may not be viewing those sideshows. they're also concerned about the ordinance dist, pro pro disproportionately affecting people of color. >> a nationwide fbi led effort to rescue victims of human trafficking nets. the recovery of 200 survivors and the arrests of or sighting of more than 5 dozen suspected traffickers operation cross. country first launched in the bay area 13 years ago and since spread across the country. kron four's djegal reports that several victims recovered right here in the bay area. >> the national human trafficking resource cent
