across the desert southwest bringing in rain, snow, and quite a bit of wind across portions of albuquerquew it's this system across the southwest that is going to go towards the east. portions of texas, the gulf coast, as we head into the next couple of days we're looking at an area of low pressure to team up with that system and perhaps produce a nor'easter across portions of the northeast as we head on into the next couple of days. let's take a look at the system that is producing that across portions of texas right now really if you live in santa fe, albuquerque, lubbock and into abeline. you're dealing with a mixture of eyes and that's turning into freezing lane rain as we look as the area. underneath that snow black ice, so you need to be careful if you're traveling. take a look at this roadway. it's hard to see certainly at nighttime. and the temperatures are expected to drop below the freezing mark, and folks there will have to use caution. the area draws moisture up from arizona. a wet day for phoenix. they'll be hit again and again and also it looks like that is turning to snow on

this is from parts of albuquerque. now not in albuquerque proper, that's where we're getting a rain-snow mix but we're getting a lot of snow in the mountains. arizona to colorado, and we work our way into the valleys where they're concerned about winter weather there as well. especially as we go through thanksgiving, we have big problems when it comes to winds, too. the winds we're focusing on are in california, sacramento and the sierra nevada. this is where we're getting those wind gusts at 50 and 60 mph, sometimes higher than that. the basic weather make up is high pressure that is building up to the basin and it is just channeling those winds through the valleys, this is what we call locally. it's a down hill wind that comes out of the northeast. they call it mono winds. you'vyou havewe'lltell you mores specific about the way it snows coming up. >> i don't think i've heard of that, just saying, when we return we'll tell you why your next flight could be really chatty. the anniversary of jfk continues with a detaile
