man near his home. police say violence in vallejo is on the rise. ktvu's alexavage talked to police about what happened last night and more of what's going on in vallejo. good morning. >> reporter: good morning. i just spoke with the lieutenant from the vallejo police department not long ago. he tells me definitely this teenager was targeted in this shooting last night. but at this point investigators aren't saying exactly why they believe he was targeted. this 18-year-old shot to death inside an apartment complex that's not far from where he livers. the killing happened just after 7:00 last night at an apartment complex on the 1300 block of santa clara street. according to one report, neighbors heard more than a dozen gunshots. police will only say multiple shots were fired. police say the victim was shot in the neck and then ran to a nearby unit where he collapsed right outside of someone's doorway. the young man died there at the scene and this morning police aren't releasing his identity. but police tell me they have talked to some witnesses in that area
