alexandria, 8 afte 4 after a hif 96 degrees. and our final stop in potomac, maryland, 73, a bit cooler. they made it up to 93. at reagan national, 96 degrees. not even close to the record set back in 1930 when it was 102. but we did come within one degree of tying the record at dulles where they made it up to 96 today. 97 was the record. tomorrow, a better chance of tying or breaking the record at both national and dulles. so hopefully, fingers crossed, it will be something exciting it to look at. maybe we'll tie or break a record tomorrow. 85 degrees hagerstown. state college looking at 70 degrees. if you're looking for more heat, more humidity, head to the south. memphis, 84 degrees at this hour. 82 in atlanta. the cooler, drier air well to the north. syracuse, new york. 71. 76 degrees in new york city. we had some thunderstorms that rolled across the region maybe from the north earlier this evening. that's why the national weather service issued a severe thunderstorm watch. they canceled it early. nothing to worry about this
