so says meteorologist allyson rae and she's here with your first alert forecast. >> yeah, we are seeing these showers go in and out region. and in-between that we have some cloudy skies and not going to see a lot of sun today. in fact it will take until tomorrow to see the sun. so we do have another round of showers headed our way. we started off mid-morning with a couple of showers and said hey by midday, we're going to dry out just a little bit. but don't put the umbrellas away just yet when some showers arrive. this is moving at about 40, 45 miles per hour. picking up a little pace just east of 81. putting nit washington at about -- it in washington at about 1:09 and through baltimore at 1:50. this is going to move on through and then dry out again and some showers hanging out for the rest of the evening. things taper off for the drive home a bit but the on and off showers not causing a huge impact where you have to alter plans but maybe just a nuisance as you're trying to run some errands or get ready for your tuesday. we have temperatures in the 40s here's the good news, not talkin

i'm meteorologist allyson rae. happy saturday. not much going on right now. but we are starting to see some snow and a lot of it for our friends down through st. mary's county. d.c. and off to the west, you will see a couple flurries. not much going on. take a look at the bright blues. that indicates the heavier snowfalls. we are getting reports on our twitter. send us tweets and pictures. we want to see what is going on in your county. we need to see what is going on there. we are getting reports of heavier snow that is thicken and making the ro we are seeing the plows getting the roads clear. if you have to travel south, it will be tricky today. i usually don't show you the fog tracker. why are you showing me that? we're talking about snow. this gives you an idea where the snow is the heaviest. visibility is the lowest. so winter weather advisory for those areas in purple, that includes d.c. we could see an inch or so of snow. absolutely. so it's not going to be crippling by any means but it will impact your saturday plans. as you travel to st. mary's count

let's get right to meteorologist allyson rae for the first alert forecast. well allyson? >> more on the order of dusting, this was not going to be a huge event as far is concerned. snow lovers i'm sorry, this is just not going to be it. however, it's just at a bad time. so your impact could be a little bit greater causing some slippery roads. way now it doesn't take much even just a coating to make those roads slippery. so you need two things for snow obviously moisture and also cold air. well, here comes the cold air for sure. doesn't feel like it right now. at 57 degrees and we had the quick morning showers a moment of fog this morning, that's on its way out and now comes the cold air. the winds will feel it and look at the high temperatures, 17 for chicago and 11 for madison and it's very cold. we're going to be into the 30s for a while. the second ingredient we need also of course we need it to rain. turning to snow and you know what? there's not a lot of moisture with this. so that's the problem where we're not going to see a lot of snow. however, the impact is a lit
