we have a few showers making their way through the altamont pass about to exit alameda county towards tracy, a few sprinkles and light showers possible through tonight. see some showers offshore, but gradually through the overnight hours the showers will become fewer and farther between. friday looks largely dry. technically there's about a 10% chance of a pop-up shower but mostly dry. saturday looks dry, but there is another rain chance farther down the line in the forecast by sunday afternoon. we're seeing amounts variable, but mostly on the low end of the spectrum, only 0.01-inch of rain in san francisco that fell yesterday. sebastopol picked up over 1 inch of rain and just over a quarter inch for san anselmo, but for the most part, amounts have come in less than a 0.1-inch. the snow showers in the sierra continue through tomorrow. a winter weather advisory for the high sierra continues until 10:00 on friday. travel is not going to be impossible, but it's going to be difficult, especially since it's one of those early season systems that everybody has to get back into winter travel
