alyssa harrington is live. a very sad sight to see. >> reporter: it's hard to believe this used to be a $2 million house. it's been entirely knocked down. crews had to use cables to get work done, because part of a sidewalk is crumbling, as well. this could be the tip of the iceberg. five other residents have to get their homes checked out, too. >> it's a bit frightening to wake up one day and see that your house next door is condemned and sliding down the hill. >> reporter: steve ader first noticed the crack on his neighbor's house monday. just days later -- demolition crews tear it down. building inspectors say it's unsafe and now some neighboring homes could be, too. >> of course, we're very worried because there's some movement on our property. >> reporter: up the road, the gas meter was removed from this house. contractors say the patio is next. the director of the department of building inspection points out other properties they're worried about. delivered. residents must hire engineers to check for haza

abc 7 news reporter alyssa harrington reported about how lgbt groups and supporters were standing in solidarity with the black lives matters campaign. a march in east oakland. a civil rights slide show, a rally in san francisco's castro district. these are just a few of several demonstrations happening in the bay area over the martin luther king jr. holiday weekend. protests against police violence involving black men and other minorities. the movement is also to take back mlk's legacy and support nonviolence civil disobedience. >> until we get justice, there will be no peace. >> in oakland a group marched from the eastmont police substation. four were arrested on the way. >> how do you not care? >> among the demonstrators, her son was shot and killed by police when he was 16 and she has traveled to rallies all over the country to demand justice. >> new york, chicago, all around oakland, everywhere that we're not going to go anywhere and we're trying to educate mothers to get off the couch and do this. >> kadean williams, sister of a woman who was shot and killed by san francisco pol
