i am sorry about that. anyway, i am retired as a business agent for seiu. i would like to thank you for this award that we're going to get. it took me quite a fuse -- quite a few years to get it together. there was so much confusion about the fillmore and what was going on and being the president of the blues and r&b music foundation, i decided to find a location for a mural. at that time, the mayor located, park and rec -- mayor ok'd and park and rec ok'd it. we came up with -- the mural is beautiful. on the -- jim side. there was lots of confusion as to what was what. i decided to get permission to put a mural on stender and post. for those of you who have seen it, you know it is beautiful. it is not a mural. it is art. h. personality on the merrill looks exactly like himself. being that i knew each person, i tracked them down and we got together. it took two years to pay that merrill. it took a long time, lots of effort and love. the gentleman who did the painting is right here with me. standing by my side like we were for two years. every day with him,

i am kevin birmingham. i am a realtor, but more importantly, i am a native san franciscan. i have watched many of my friends and people in my family moved out of san francisco because there is an affordable housing problem in this city. i am getting on the board of realtors, and i am on the housing authority board committee, and we are bringing money to groups such as home ownership sf because i do believe in it. i think you need to look at -- the way to keep families in san francisco is what your building, and what we are seeing a lot are either small projects or very large projects. these large projects are on major transit corridors, and i do not know many families that want to live on van ness. the smaller projects would be in more traditional neighborhoods where families want to live, and that is what we need. another thing to take into consideration is with the inclusionary house a requirement, these projects do not pencil out. it is not that people dothe len- is still very tight throughout the nation. if housing does not fit it, it is not going to get built. if you w

i am kind of disappointed. my question to staff, i am disappointed if q-matic did not work. i believe every frustration that was pointed out, why didn't we get in there and called it out? staff's job is to get things to work and not just say we are going to throw it out. i do not know if q-matic is bankrupt or not. but if we bought something, we have to hold the people that we bought it from accountable. going back to commissioner walker's point, why isn't there somebody at q-matic walking us through this? if there are glitches, they should fix it. if it is a technical fix, they should fix it. we did not get the right programming? why don't we work with them to get it done? we are doing the same thing with permit tracking. the people we brought -- but that system from have to walk through it before we launch it. even when we do, they are supposed to hang around and make sure it works right. otherwise, we should not have bought it. those are the two questions i have for staff. i feel disappointed in some of the things that staff said. this is a bad thing. we should get rid of
