let's get to storm team 4 meteorologist amelia draper who was tracking when that rain will move out of your neighborhood. good morning. >> good morning. not only scattered showers right now and threat of rain really diminishes by 10:00 a.m. before i get to radar, i want to show you storm reports from yesterday. these are hail and wind reports combined. you can see they really favor virginia. hard any any reports in maryland and no storm reports in the district. as storms pushed eastward they fizzled out. look at the report out of b area around 6:00 in the evening. here's what's left of this storm system. showers in southern maryland. widely scattered light showers in parts of montgomery and frederick county and heavier rain back over the mountains. again, this moves out of the area by 10:00 a.m.ç comfortably cool this morning as well with temperatures in the 60s. dave, you're tracking an issue on the roads after a quiet morning. >> luckily the bulk of that storm damage stayed well to the west of the metro area. the bulk of the metro area beltway included off to a good start. we're loo

amelia draper is standing by with an update in the storm center. so where is the rain headed? >> what i'm really keeping an eye on is storms in two main areas. this is moving toward the southeast at about 15 miles an hour. you can expect 1 to 2 inches from this. if it is going to move over your neighborhood. gaithersburg at about 4:15. wheaten at 5:00. the district at 5:30. as we continue to head on into the evening hours, we'll track pockets of hy as far as severe weather goes, this is really all i'm seeing. moderate to high areas of heavy rain that will lead to water logged roads. as far as high winds and hail is concerned, not seeing that threat. we're coming in at 78 degrees right now as we continue to track scattered rain from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. mainly dry by 11:00 p.m. more severe weather in the forecast over the weekend. i'll have updates to that coming up in about 15 minutes. >>> the talk is over. the work is about to begin. metro's massive yearlong effort to repair the rail system kicks off at midnight. >> with it, expect a year of service delays across the region. the

storm team 4 meteorologist amelia draper joining us with a look at our first, what, 90-degree stretchg up? >> we're ready. >> i know. we haven't hit 90 degrees yet. it is kind of unusual for this area. they're going to come in a big way in a sense when it could not only be our first 90-degree day, but three or four days. the good news, i was talking about humidity levels earlier. not so much the humidity. we're looking more at a dry heat. not the mugginess we've grown so accustomed to. 82 degrees right now in washington as well as manassas. the weather is going to have a low impact on your day tomorrow. the humidity is low. highs in the low to mid 80s. plenty of sunshine. it's another beautiful start, another great morning to get run or bike ride. just perfect as we close out the workweek. looking ahead to the weekend, the weather for the most part continues to cooperate. if you need to get some yard work done, i'm going to recommend sunday. there is a slight chance of a shower or storm on saturday, but it is going to be a little bit humid on saturday. on sunday we'll have a nice bree
