so we set up this tribal supreme court project with the national congress of american indians to bringribal attorneys, all of the indian law professors, all of the supreme court practitioners to really focus on each case would come up and try to figure out how brief it, argue it, and make it more understandable to the more conservative supreme court it was very difficult fight to have to educate everybody there in indian country about the danger in the us supreme court and really encourage them not to anymore, because we were going to. and so we had to kind of put a damper everything and the tribal leaders said, if you need us to enforce and go stop a tribe from doing something, going to impact just us know. so everything changed. so with this supreme project started, we also started at that same what's called a judicial project. the tribal leaders said, well, how do these lawyers end up on the us supreme court? how does that process work? and so we explained how, you know, the justices nominate it by the president confirmed or rejected by the us senate and they said we need to get inv

what has worked for american indians in the states, what has worked for indigenous people in the states, what has worked for indigenous people in canada, how do we share that and level some of the good and wise practices across different places. we should see government to government facilitation in terms b i think still struggling in terms of figuring out their own relationships within their own borders. one example, indigenous travel counsel. i know them well. they owned the largest paper mill, lumber mill. probably the largest owned in the world. but it is a significant one in canada. they have been hit here in the united states and they are trying to get past. they have been pushing for some washington legislative to think about could they trade with the tribe in the united states. with that, you know, exclude custom tariffs or taxes. with the day treaty, i think you could make the case that a first nation in a tried -- tried could be cross-border and exempted from taxes. there could be ramifications and implications of that. testing the waters of the treaty otherwise we don't have
