amy hollyfield begins our live team coverage with the latest briefing at sfo. amy? >> reporter: we have learned much more about the moments after the crash. fire chief tells us it was a difficult scene at first. the two bodies were found outside the plane. she says on board there were people that needed rescuing. there were passengers in the water at the water's edge. she says she doesn't think they were ejected but they were dousing themselves from the fire. fire chief told us that the tail of the plane was separated by several hundred feet. there were copious amounts of smoke and confusion and chaos. she and mayor expressed gratitude and some shock there were so many survivors. >> i would like to say at this time, with the help of so many people. we have accounted all 307 passengers and crew. having said that, we have two fatalities that are confirmed and quite a number of passengers that are still in critical condition. >> there was a lot collapsed seats. a lot was on fire. quite a bit of damage to that plane. again, it's amazing. >> reporter: of course, so many

abc7 news reporter amy hollyfield is in richmond with that story. amy? >> yes, katie, firefighters got a clue when they got here on scene. look here, fireworks debris. then they found video on a family members' homes of a 26-year-old man jumping over lit fireworks. family members say that man has the mental capacity of an 8-year-old. he caught fire. they believe that happened in the doorway back of the back house. it looks like a fourth of july celebration went terribly wrong at this house the parents, ages 52 and 49, were killed in a fire. their 26-year-old son is in the hospital with buns all over his body. witnesses saw him on fire running around in a panic. >> as far as the gentleman running, that wasn't good because that is why we tell you to stop, drop, roll. when you run, you feed the fire. >> i heard him screaming. i heard screaming. it woke me up. >> 9-1-1 was called at 2:30. he is devastated at the loss of his neighbors. >> she was really sweet. when she saw me she calls me "love." >> the adult children were setting off fireworks in the middle
