amy hollyfield has the story. >> the bay area council paid for the polls and members say they were surprised by the results. we have all seen the protests around the shuttle buses, protestors say they are upset about a number of things and angry the we buses use community bus stops and don't lick what they represent, believing the increase of workers is creating a housing problem. the study was to find out if the majority of city has negative feelings toward tech but they found the opposite. however, people want regulation. 57 percent of people have a favorable view of the shuttles and 67 percent support letting the buses use muni stops. however, 72 percent say they do want the city to recover the confident of using those stops, to charge the companies. the bay area city council outsourced potting so they feel the results are unbiased. >> we are comfortable. the results are extremely credible questioning 500 voters representing the demographic breakdown and the representation among folks that affiliate themselves with the technical industry was really small. >> they did not ask those being p

amy hollyfield is there to explain what happened. >>> what a tense night. can you imagine, police having the storm surrounded for five hours. police say a woman came home and interrupted a burglary in progress at 6 10:00 at night. she noticed the back door was open and she heard a door inside the home slamming. when police arrived she pulled up a feed from the surveillance camera in her home on her smartphone and she and police watched the men. after hours of police trying to coax them out the s.w.a.t. team entered the home and no one was this. it turns out the video feed was not live. officers think the guys escaped right before police arrived. investigators discovered how they got in and say they forced open a rear door and are not sure what all they took from the home but at this time they have not made any arrests. >> thank you, malaysian airlines this morning offers passengers' families their first compensation 2 1/2 weeks after malaysia airlines flight 370 was missing. the search for wreck average is suspended today. katie marzullo is in the newsroom.
