an iowa man is convicted of possessing a firearm as a felon and crack cocaine with the distribute. 32-year-old marchello rembert, of waterloo, found guilty by a jury in federal court in cedar rapids. of last year and found 15 bags of crack cocaine in his front pocket. a loaded pistol was also found in his girlfriend's vehicle, which was later linked to rembert. he faces as many as 30 years in prison. a local fire department is undergoing training for ice and cold water rescues. the department used such training in real life situations, eight times last year. you can see cedar rapids firefighters here jumping into the icy water. they practice both saving themselves as well as playing the victim, and having others come to their rescue. the suits they are wearing are insulated so they don't get it's an annual training that's very timely this week -- following the tragic loss of a hits home pretty well we had quite a few guys that went down and assisted with the drowning in johnson county so the importance is definetely there." fire crews cycled in to get their training throughout the day
