but you know, mandela transcends the anc. he provided tremendous leadership for the anc, but he transcends one party. he really represents all of south africa. in a fundamental way, he represents all of africa. we all say, he is a global icon. so i think he is served an incredibly powerful leadership role within the anc. the anc will no doubt have to find its footing and its path in a changing political context in south africa. but you know, mandela transcends all. he transcends party, boundaries of countries, and really he is someone who is embraced throughout the world. >> listening to what you are saying, would you agree that his continued presence is important in securing the, shall we say, extra international respect of south africa? >> i think the leadership mandela has provided, all those of suffering incredible hardship and continuing to ofsevere, to hold up values justice, values of reconciliation, clearly those .alues are needed in south africa, in africa, and around the world, today and in the decades and centuries
