this morning we are along the san andreas trail by the san andreas lake. a seismologist named the fault line after this lake ear in san bruno. a big scene in the film for tonight is this. a tsunami wave crushing into the golden gate bridge and destroying san francisco. experts say this is highly unbelievable scenario because the san andreas fault line is mostly on land so it cannot generate a tsunami and definitely not one hitting the city. unlike the movie which has a 9.0 quake, the san andreas fault is capable of at most magnitude 8.3. seismologists say the most important take away from the film other than being prepared is the reaction, drop, cover, and hold on which you do see cal tech scientists in the movie to. strap to the ground. take cover under a sturdy table and hold on to it until the shaking stops. what's also real is the damage the next big quake san andreas can cause. not quite the level depicted in the movie. of course, the 1906 earthquake. if you're headed to the movie tonight and you want something more real, maybe some live demonstration
