i'm joe kernen along with becky quick and andrew ross sorkin.n a minute but first becky has the headlines. >>> asian markets falling overnight. the nikkei and hang seng both falling by over 2%. shanghai composite falling 1.4%. just out, the bank of england left its key interest rates unchanged as expected. markets there have been mixed throughout. but the u.s. equity futures are looking higher today ignoring what's happened in the morning. s&p futures up by 7. the nasdaq up by 15. again, this has been a morning with a lot of bouncing around. just in the last hour we were up by about 160 points for the dow. so we'll continue to see as the market fluctuates before the opening. >>> on today's economic agenda, three reports of note. weekly jobless claims, august import/export prices, and wholesale trade numbers. and the justice department is cracking down on white collar criminals. the doj issuing new policies that prior tiess prosecution of individual employees, not just their companies. this is according to to a memo issued worldwide. to turn over

i'm becky quick along with joe kernen and andrew ross sorkin.es from the opening bell on wall street. we've been watching the futures this morning and they've been in the red all morning long. of course based on where we've seen things the last few weeks that doesn't necessarily mean anything at the close let alone at the open. let's look at what's happening with the dow futures today. down about 60 points. and nasdaq down by 17. also in europe, similar trading patterns. the dax is the biggest decliner of the major aerges. it's down by about .75% and so is the cac in france. >>> let's look at headlines at this hour. goldman sachs cutting its oil forecast to $45 a barrel and the bank says the risk of that oil could fall could go down to $20 and that is rising. among the reasons there's a surplus of oil. also we should tell you the august producer price index due in just about 30 minutes. the headline inflation falling by .1%. and we've got new data from u.s. based stock funds in the week ending wednesday. lipper reports this follows $14 billion i

. >> rose: first of all there is donald trump making the case and then andrew ross sorkin had a column of this. >> he did. he did. and carly, it's so interesting. because i went, i remember going to lucent in the summer of 1998 when there had been one-story written about carly fiorina in a publication called "investors business daily". and i was going out there because i heard about this woman who was supposedly very charismatic and very strong and she was 44 years ol at the time. and i remember her walking in the room that day. and quite honestly, i was dazzled. i was dazzled. she had-- she had a charisma. she had a command about her. and she was-- she was a very, very good marketer. and then when she went to hewlett packard and she waged a very long, many, many month proxy fight for compac, big acquisition, and fighting certain shareholders who didn't want the deal done, she went on a-- she went on a nationwide campaign talking to investors, trying to sell them this deal. and looking back on it, it's so interesting. we saw what a good campaigner she was then. >> rose: for what she is
