cnbc's andrew ross sorkin sat down with elon musk.d him to do was address those comments he put on twitter earlier this month. he apologized for those comments saying that's the dumbest thing he's ever put up on a social media platform. but when andrew pressed him what that meant for advertisers, and for many of them have been staying away from the platform or decided to pause advertising on the platform as a consequence of that tweet all he could say was quite literally go "f" yourself. and he didn't just say it once, he said it multiple times. very extraordinary to hear that from a ceo of a company. of course, the world's richest man. and i would just point out, john, from a commercial perspective back in 2021 before twitter went private, they posted results suggesting that 90% of their revenue does come from advertisers. it would be very difficult to turn this ship around given that so many of them including the likes of ibm, disney, apple, have decided to pause advertising on the platform. it could be a major issue going forward.

you saw it in that interview with my colleague, andrew ross sorkin.t mean to cause anybody any hurt. if you stopped there, the story might have been different. instead then he went further as you saw and decided to be combative. i'm not a billionaire businessman, i'm not very successful at this, but the billionaire businessmen i've met generally try not to offend the people who are giving their companies tens of millions of dollars. he's in a different place right now. he is part entrepreneur, part businessman, but also part politician with a real ideological edge. >> but he knows that he has unique leverage over national security. no one else can do what he does, and no one else has. >> that's exactly right, and ukraine is a good example of that. they are depending on him when they wanted to, you know, launch various operations. they depend on the satellite coverage that he provides, the starlink as we've seen. you know, elon musk has used that at times when he thought that ukrainian actions were not in the best interests. and so he does have a power

cnbc's andrew ross sorkin, thank you very much.the government shutdown could have a major impact on travel just ahead of the thanksgiving holiday. if the republican-led house fails to get it done, air traffic controllers and tsa agents would have to work out pay. it could also lead to significant delays and longer wait times for travelers across the country. joining us now, the administrator of the transportation security administration david pikassi. is there anyway you can prepare for a government shutdown, and what should travelers expect? >> first, we hope congress comes to an agreement and gets a bill signed. in the event that doesn't happen, every agency has plans in event of a government shutdown. we've been through this in the past, unfortunately, many times. the biggest impact for tsa is going to be on our people, obviously. people don't get paid during a government shutdown. 95% of our employees are required to work. we're an essential organization. so they could go for a period of time with no income coming in. if you go
