tell you, all of us who ran-- and i've had this nversation with everybody from pete buttigieg, to andrew yang all kind of struck by joe joe biden's ability in private moments to rise above it and be a states person above all of us. he has this natural sense of grace and decency and kindness. and i know-- and i'm not naive. seven years in washington now, i'm not naive to the sense of manufactured outrage and cynicism that drips often in washington. but i think he is the right person for the right moment in history, where many of us, after the rancor and destructive politics of the last four years, i think he is the right person and is up for the task, along with us to try to bring humility and grace and decency back to our politics. >> woodruff: is it enough, senator booker-- i don't mean to be challenging you more-- but is it enough to have-- i don't know, a good approach, and as you say, grace and a willingness to engage in this almost-poisonous atmosphere that we've been witnessing and living through? >> well, look, we will never escape it. and i was giving a tour to some of my nieces and n

andrew yang, former democratic presidential candidate, cnn commentator.to try to register asian-americans in the state. very tiny slice of the population. in close elections that matters. the deeper the purple, the more registration you see. over the last four years, chatham county, savannah county. up here in the atlanta metro area you see some increase in asian-american voters. that is a key question. small voting population but in a close election couple hundred here, couple thousand here can help. joe biden won the state by just shy of 12,000 votes. a perfect storm, if you will, for democrats. georgia is trending towards the democrats. call it a purple state if you will, but it still leans red. that's the challenge. can democrats recreate this or is georgia still in a traditional race without trump on the ballot? does it go back to its still slightly republican leaning dna? that's the test. >> at stake right now, it's a huge stake, the balance of power in the u.s. senate. remind us a little bit about how significant, what's happening in these two sena

andrew yang during the democratic primaries got a respectable hearing for this radical plan, which bytalking about as these -- as jobs go away. the other thing i want to mention to you as a conservative, joe, and your conservative listeners, universal health is not socialism. universal health -- i thought the argument should be made it's perfect for this flexible labor country. it would allow people to quit their jobs, take new jobs, move for jobs, quit to start businesses, take a huge burden off small businesses. we need to keep explaining the facts. in truth, it's a long haul. i look at the 40 year cycle of the new deal being the set of norms and rules, then the last 40 years, what i call the raw deal. i believe in -- cycles of history happen. and i'm hopeful that we are on the -- at the beginning of a new cycle. >> was that -- it's interesting, you talk about universal health care. what i always explain to my conservative friends who are so offended by that concept and say it's radical socialism and it will destroy the very nature of america. i have to say this, one of my favorite
