andy hiller joins us live from manchester with the new results from overnight. good morning, andy. >> andy: good morning to you. this is what we've been waiting for, our first poll of new hampshire that includes reaction here to the iowa caucus. was watching what happened in iowa, because democrat hillary clinton and republican marco rubio are both moving up. donald trump is still in first place among the republicans, but he's frozen at 38%. ted cruz is second with 14%. marco rubio is third with 12%. jeb bush has 9% and john kasich 7%. rounding out the republicans, chris christie 6%, ben carson and carly fiorina 3% each and rand paul, too. undecided now 6%. here's where you see it: trump is on top but not moving. ted cruz stays in second, and look at marco rubio, up two points. jeb bush holding steady and john kasich is not getting the reception he wanted here. he's down two points, too. looking at the democrats, bernie sanders still looks like he'll win, but hillary clinton is cutting into his lead. sanders gets 61% in our poll. clinton 32% with just 5% undecide

political editor andy hiller with exclues i poll numbers this afternoon. hey, andy. >> reporter: hello. i'm in our new hampshire headquarters with dr. joshua dick from umass-lowell who is conducting our exclusive tracking poll. and the poll shows exactly where the candidates stand here right now. bernie sanders and donald trump are in front. the donald looks headed for a win here with 38%. he is far ahead of ted cruz who is in second with 12%. then there is a clump of candidates. ohio governor john kasich and former florida governor jeb bush get 9% each. florida senator marco rubio gets 8%. the rest of the republican field? new jersey governor chris christie, 7%. dr. ben carson and kentucky senator rand paul 3% apeechlts and carly fiorina, 2%. only 8% are undecided. here is how it looks as we begin our tracking. trump well in front. then a pack chasing second and third place. remember, whatever impact iowa will have on new hampshire can't be measured yet. dr. josh, it looks like trump can't lose here. >> yeah. it is going to be hard for anyone to catch trum

so let's get right to andy hiller with the breakdown of the new numbers. andy? >> reporter: hello, christa. time in our new hampshire headquarters with dr. joshua dick who is conducting our poll with umass-lowell. and what it shows is the political ground in new hampshire is moving. we are seeing more of iowa's impact and all the arguing between the candidates that is under way here. hillary clinton is moving up. and marco rubio is really coming up. donald trump stays in first among the republicans with 36%, but marco rubio takes over second place with 15%. ted cruz now in third has 14%. jeb bush 8%. and john kasich, 7%. for the rest of the republicans, chris chris gets 5%. ben carson, 4%. carly fiorina,%. the undecided number is 8%. our tracking poll is what you want to look at. trump is on top, but he is down two points. has dropped on the poll. marco rubio has jumped into second place with 15%. that is a gain of three points. overnight. ted cruz holds his support but has dropped into third place. jeb bush lost a point. no change for john kasich. dr. josh, i a

andy hiller has been tracking those number. he joins us live here in manchester with our 7 news umass lowell tracking poll. andy? >> reporter: adam, the buildup has been so long it's hard to believe but this time tomorrow we'll actually have an idea of how some new hampshire voters actually voted. the democratic primary is easy to predict but the republican beyond picking the winner is impossible to call. donald trump still the g.o.p. leader with 34% after dropping two points since yesterday. then a tie for second at 13% and there was no change in ted cruz's support. then another tie at 10%, between john kasich and jeb bush. at the back of the pack, chris christie five, gaining a point, criminally fiorina no change at four and ben carson no change at three. check out that undecided number. 9% of republican primary voters say they are still not sure whom they will support hours before the polls open. the tracking poll gives you the picture. donald trump alone on top, then the cluster of rubio, cruz, bush and kasich. any of them c

our political editor andy hiller joins us live in manchester. you are keeping an eye on the newest numbers in our tracking poll. >> reporter: that's absolutely correct, adam t and the . and the race looks over about bernie sanders sure to win it. but we could be in for new hampshire surprise. sanders is now beating hillary clinton 57% to 47% widening his lead over her after he picked up 2 points overnight and she lost one. undecided is down to 2%. a drop of 2 since yesterday. the tracking polls show sanders solidifying and widening his stopping hillary clinton's burst of momentum. and it no longer looks shik she did catch she can catch him. >> bernie sanders leads by 11 among democratsed. 25 by independents and 9-10 over 40 voters continues. >> reporter: among the republicans, there was little movement. donald trump stayed in the top spot with 37% after picking up a point since yesterday. no change for marco rubio and his 14% keeps him in second. ted cruz at 13% maintained his support and remained in third, jeb bush gained no points but his 10%

let's get over to andy hiller who joins us live with the breakdown of the new numbers. >> reporter: i'm here at new hampshire headquarters. i think you know who is conducting our tracking poll. both races have settled down for at least a day. that's fine with republican sanders is now beating clinton after he stopped three days of losses. but clinton gained a point overnight slightly decreasing their difference. undecided remain at 4%. polls show clinton is still gaining but the right of her rise has slowed. there was no change for sanders after three days of big drops. dr. josh it doesn't look like hillary will catch sanders. >> the number that's really interesting today is for the first time don't know doesn't lead the question who do you think will be the next president? hillary clinton does. >> this is another example of winning by losing. >> if she's able to close the gap by less than ten points we'd look back on this and consider a big win for this campaign. >> there's a gender gap isn't there? >> what's interesting early in the week it wasn't that pronounced when we started the t
