angie goff live with more on this. angie? >> reporter: good morning, aaron.ice say there were several calls about debris hitting cars and damaging them. this after the airline says an engine shutdown on a plane headed for japan. fortunately no one was hurt on the ground or on the mayplane. there were 330 people on board the flight. people up in the air and below described what happened. >> midway through, the air conditioning kind of popped, which doesn't really happen. and then we stopped accelerating. the plane continued in the angle of acceleration, but nothing happened. >> we saw pieces, it's made of metal. it was so hot. you could not even touch it. >> reporter: after the engine trouble, the plane circled the airport and made an emergency landing. an airline spokesperson says the plane is designed to fly on one engine. and pilots are trained to do so if they have to. an investigation into the accident is underway this morning. and officials say they will take action if it is determined safety regulations were violated. reporting live in the newsroom, ang
