annapolis beautiful this morning at 66 -- 63 degrees.n shore is sitting at 66. here are temperatures later today. so we, warm up nicely, thank you. a little bit more humidity but still very, very tolerable out there with middle 80's, a couple of low 80's, too. tropical depression 16 down here not quite a tropical storm but it is forecast to become a tropical storm later on and we'll continue to watch this kind of blow up and it does look like conditions get a little bit better for a few showers -- i mean for a few -- a lot of rain -- what i'm trying to say is it gets a bit stronger. movement is to the northwest at 7 miles per hour. kind of get the sense of where this is going to go right up across basically cancun, cozumel places like that. the big threat is by the time it gets up into the gulf of mexico early in the weekend of conditions that would be favorable unfortunately for this to strengthen, sole right now forecast is for it to make landfall sometime sunday afternoon it looks like. could be right around new orleans or up into ala

and the very first week i was there, they send me to do a story on the sailboat racing in annapolis. on about, i'm taking photographs, and there is this woman next to me who was probably in her 60's or 70's. she finds out i am new to washington, so she gives me the whole history of annapolis as we are sitting there for two hours watching the sailboats go by. by the end of it, she goes, you know, they just started admitting the first women to the naval academy -- she said they admitted the first women to the u.s. naval academy four years ago. those women are now seniors. they are going to be an charge of the summer boot camp for incoming people. lightbulbs are going off in my head. i go, wow, what a great story. i contacted the naval academy, and just started photographing that story through that summer. i did not tell the post about it. i wanted to make sure that i had the photographs that i needed before i presented it to them. i would go back on my off days, keep photographing, and i ended up following a woman named sandy erwin who ended up on the front page of the post. the photo

she gives me the whole history of annapolis. for two hours. watching the sailboats go by. and towards the end of it she goes you know they just started admitting the first women to the naval academy. they admitted the first women to the academy four years ago. and those women are now seniors and they'll be in charge of the summer boot camp. for incoming. of course lightbulbs are off in my head. i go wow what great story. i contacted the naval academy. the office. and just started photographing that story through the summer. i didn't tell the post about it. i wanted to make sure i had the photographs that i needed before i presented it to them. and i would go back on my off days. keep photographing. and i ended up following a woman named sandy. who ended up on the front page of the post. in the photographs her yelling at these freshmen. lined up against the wall with their chins tucked in. and that photograph ran everywhere in the world. and i'm convinced that that story helped me get a job at the post. >> what kind of impact do you think the story had had beyond your caree

seventy-one annapolis, 63 annapolis, 71 in hagerstown, tomorrow morning won't be as cool as the pastew mornings. we definitely started the workweek off kind of chilly showing a front towards our north has brought some clouds and showers across portion of pennsylvania. we had some showers across extreme pennsylvania early this evening the front is going to stay north of us. it's kind of stuck up there. it's stalled and so that means our weather for the next couple of days kind of similar to today. not a lot of movement in the weather pattern. with that front north of us we'll continue to have this warm weather and a little humid, too i noticed that earlier not so much right now at night but there is a touch of humidity in the air making it feel just a little bit warmer. it's certainly warm enough on its own for tomorrow, friday. it'sing whying to feel like september, high temperatures in the low to mid 80s. the kids don't need a jacket tomorrow morning, maybe in some of our more out lying. temperatures are right around six of 30-degrees and quickly warming and after school forget bit.
