mary ann: absolutely.t one of the things that we can say is that our local public schools are making wise investments with the dollars that they have and that they're using their local control accountability plans, their strategic plans, and their partnerships with outside funders and parents and others to really invest in young people in really creative programs, community schools, and ways that keep students safe and have them thinking about college and career. damian: you mentioned funding. funding is not easy. i mean, that's always been a challenge. my--we mentioned off-camera, my kid's school district is losing all its librarians because of funding. talk about that issue and how that's been addressed. mary ann: well, it's--in california, schools are funded in different ways and currently we're funded under the local control funding formula. and what that means is that many of our districts see varying rates in per student allocations for funding. so there's quite a range throughout the county and thro

anne: i completely understand. it's a totally fair question, and i think i have such compassion for the news organizations. again, i was in a newsroom for a while, and i understand the ups and downs that this relationship has been through. i think what i'm seeing us do differently, i hope, is to just have a more candid relationship with publishers, and to frankly be more realistic about the expectations that we all set when we have a conversation about what is going to happen and just do a better job of setting expectations. you know. sarah: because that would mean for someone on the video say oh, say, oh, it is halfway through the year, this isn't working, or we're finding the traffic, how do you do that actually? anne: instead of having a conversation that's all about referral traffic, which you know audrey mentioned, it continues to go up and down, and probably will because the algorithm is not going to stay static. having conversations about your core business challenge. we can talk about referral traffic, but

i'm anne-marie green. >>> an investigation is under way this morning over a security breach at mar-a-lago resort in florida. a woman with two chinese passports and a device containing computer malware is accused of lying the secret service to gain admission over the weekend. mola lenghi has more on this. >> reporter: a woman named yujing zhang is accused of trespassing at president trump's mar-a-lago resort in florida. according to court documents the 32-year-old got inside after presenting two chinese passports. she told the secret service agents she was there to use the pool. they mistakenly thought she was the member of a club member because she had the same last name. after she was admitted, she changed her story telling the receptionist she was there for a chinese american friendship event. she knew of no such thing. according to an affidavit, she became verbally aggressive and taken to a secret service office. agents found she had four cellphones with her, a laptop, an external hard drive, and a thum
