reporter: the lease of the vehicles along the paoli thorndale and trenton lines including here in ardmore. septa lost a third of its regional rail fleet after serious cracks were found in the suspension system. that translated into 13,000 fewer seats. officials say 18 additional cars and three locate motives hit the tracks today to ease overcrowding and delays. the leased equipment means 1700 more seats than last week but that's still -- that still leaves a significant seat shortage. we hope this week is better than last. >> last week not too good. >> i don't know that it's going to be significant. i think it will help, of course. more trains, less crowded. it was very crowded. >> reporter: over in glenside today's new schedule meant additional service between glenside and center city. commuters say leaving early helps as does staying flexible because there's no overnight shift. >> going to be a long haul. we've dealt with this before with strikes but it's always been a week, maybe two weeks, you know, at the most but this is going to be a couple months. >> reporter: septa says using this

this morning, a peace committee meeting held at sacks' coffee shop in ardmore. focused on tonight innings like race relations and violence excalation solutions, participants included philadelphia police officials. local police chiefs and officers, and the chairman of the naacp main line branch. >> well, the luzerne county correctional facility remains on lockdown, as officials try to figure out what started a fight that killed both prison guard and an inmate. law enforcement officers scrambled to the scene yesterday in wilt, barre, the guards who was killed has not been identified, authorities say the inmate killed was a 27 year old, who is in jail for failing to register as a sex offender. meanwhile the delaware county courthouse closed for the day, that's after fire in a garage forced an early morning evacuation. chopper three, over north olive and west third street in media, where the fire forced workers out this morning, about 8:30. crews used a whoever craft to blow some of the smoke out of the garage. there were no injuries, and the courthouse is expected
