arizona? what do you do to make people recognize the opportunities in arizona? >> thank you, lauren, angst to the chamber for what you do and for promoting these good ideas and allowing governors like myself and governor bevan and bergen to share these best practices. i would amplify everything that they said about what he is doing in kentucky, and it is the real differentiator i think amongst our 50 states, of course the state government, but you are also chief shale or chief salesperson and spokesperson for your state. much like matt, the population, i think we are fortunate, you hear a lot about the border wall. mexico is our number one trading partner, and it's not even close, it is times for any other treating partner we have as an economy, so my first trip as governor four years ago was to mexico city, my first international trip upon being reelected governor last month was back to mexico city. and i think we are also fortunate, i was able and my second state of the state to thank and say i would be remiss if i did not express my appreciation for my partner and growing that economy, and that was california gov. jerry brown. gov. brown has been pushing people into our state by the thousands, and whenever i'm talking to a ceo or a business owner, to me it is a number of metrics that are important to them. of course we have an incredible quality of life that i can brag on in arizona but i could also talk about low taxes, and light regulation and a low liability and low litigation scale, along with ample and affordable energy, and ample water, great education. those are the things i think at the end of the day, no business relocates unknown ceo, and they don't move to place where they don't want to live, so getting the other partners that you have the ability to, the education champions, business leaders, this is something we really focused on in arizona, i think it is helping to drive our growth, and i feel and away we are just getting started, and now not only are we doing this at the state level, we've got a national economy that is participating in this i think if you hear about any governor in our country, to be able to get up there and say we have more jobs available than we have people to fill them, so with that, this focus on mexico, on the other opportunities where we have a comparative advantage with other states is what is moving arizona in the right di

arizona, people are not check -- sasabe, arizona, people are not checked. we don't check vehicles. occasionally we're fortunate enough to catch people otherwise. but if you were going to sneak drugs across our southern border, would you try to go across a normal point of entry with plenty of customs agents or out here in the middle of noy? of course in the middle of nowhere. we are not serious about dealing with the heroin problem in this country or the fentanyl problem in this country, unless we look to our southern border, and we are not serious about securing our southern border until we get a wall. 12 million people are in this country illegally. they don't count the number of people who are coming across in these open areas. common sense and it is entirely possible there are 20 million people in this country illegally. they have so many people being in this country being in this area. when i talked to the customs evidence of medicaid cards and people walking across the border. some of the people who are coming here are illegally taking advantage of our welfare and going to our emergency rooms and running up the costs of health care for people who are here legally. we believe from the percentage of people who are here, well more proportionately in the native born population are committing crimes in this country. when you add up the costs, they show up and kids get free education. the heritage foundation estimates it costs $50 billion a year for illegal immigrants. one-time money as opposed to $50 bill quon and sometimes asking can america afford to build a wall. we are losing $50 billion. we can't afford to not build a wall. we need to make sure every immigrant in this country is a good productive immigrant. another reason we need a wall is people who come across and this isp nt the best picture. thousands of people have been arizona-mexico border died trying to get across the territory. the cartels who get across the border and are required to be dealt with mislead people. they point to them ap say, this way to phoenix and tucson and maybe hundreds of miles to get to phoenix than they estimate. people are left to die from starvation or die from dehigh dation. it is a crisis to continue to allow people that sneaking across the open parts of the current wall has been built is the way to get in the united states. a wall y event, we need and we will continue to bleed money and get to people and get people who can only sneak to people who can get across the illegal points of entry. the next question is, some people will say are we anticipate immigrants. america is a country of legal immigration. i remind people 700,000 people are sworn in legally. nobody is tasking about cutting that number. a little under four million come in on work advise as. nobody is talking about cutting these numbers. dozens of millions of addi
