what aron is saying is a pack of lies. first of all, hearing voices now so he can try to get the insanity defense and also blaming the community for dismembering that little boy. in other words, he's saying if it weren't for the community, i wouldn't have done, that and that is garbage, because he's pretty much like jeffrey dahmer. when he took that little boy, he had a plan for that child, did something horrible to that child, and he mattered that smiled and dismembered him either because he liked to dismember people like jeffrey dahmer, unfortunately, cannibalism which makes us shudder even more horribly. might have liked to keep child around, who knows, but some people keep parts in the freezer of their victims. they enjoy, that and eventually he was planning to get rid of the body, dispose of the body in pieces so he could get it out of the third floor house he was living in and not have anybody suspicious. i don't think the community had anything to do with it. trying to blame them for what happened to the little boy.

kletzky was last seen with aron in a dentist office. can see right thereto 8-year-old highlighted. police say the little boy asked aron for directions after getting lost on his way home from summer camp. he only had to walk seven blocks. investigators say they found the little boy's body parts in arn's freezer and a trash bin a couple of miles away. let's go straight to deb feyerick who is live in new york. what is the latest there in terms of this hearing as it's about to get under way? >> reporter: well, randi, we can tell you the hearing is set to get under way. the suspect is 35-year-old levi aron facing charges of kidnapping and murder, both charges in the first degree. this was really rattled with every parent wrestling with how much freedom to give children in the city, even neighborhoods that are safe. 8-year-old leibby kletzky was showing he was a big boy from walking home from a nearby day camp. the senseless killing, so random, has rocked the community and even seasoned police officers. >> deb, what do you know -- >> this bus

they say levi aron, on your screen right now, has actually confessed to the crime. 35 years old, livesrents, lives with his father and uncle, i should say, works in a hardware store. no criminal history. police say this defies logic. they can't figure out why this man, who has no history of this, there's no evidence that he has trawled the area for other children, would snap and do this. here's part of his confession about how he panicked and snapped when he saw the missing person flyers go up looking for this little boy. quote, when i saw the flyers, i panicked and was afraid. i went for a towel to smother him in the side room. he fought back a little bit. afterwards i panicked because i didn't know what to do with the body. i understand this may be wrong and i'm sorry for the hurt that i have caused. police say he has been talking to them. the suspect, they say, confessed to taking the boy to a wedding. the boy slept in his house for a night or two. so it is just a gruesome detailed kind of story, as you know, and a parent's worst nightmare. he is charged with second degree murder, i

police showed up at aron's home early wednesday morning, and inside investigators discovered a partsre. >>> he's not a cop or detective. it led police straight to his door, and his name is yakov german. the surveillance video is keep. your syou were able to see the direction that this little boy left school in. where did you see him going? >> i actually saw him go out from the building and go in towards the left. that's heading to 13th avenue and 44th street. >> so walk us through, if you can, how you started to connect these dots. where did you first see him? after he left school, where did you pick him up? >> actually, the next morning 10:00 at the store at 13th avenue and 44th street at children's place. i went in there and begged them to show me the surveillance cameras. i saw four sets of kids, and it was not clear. i went to the next one and requested to see the cameras. they asked security to e-mail it to them. once that was done, i saw all forset four sets of kids. the whole investigation was going towards that way. i headed straight down 44th street going towards 14th avenue
